A Right Royal Knees Up at the Red House

Memories were made at the Red House, Albrighton, on Monday when the trustees and volunteers of Albrighton Village Halls Trust organised a Platinum Jubilee party for the elderly of the village.

150 residents of Albrighton, Donington and Boscobel were invited to an afternoon tea party to celebrate Her Majesty’s platinum jubilee.

Attendees were welcomed to the event by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire, Mrs Jenny Wynn, and following a toast to the Queen, residents enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea.

Entertainment was provided by Jack Dent, musician and magician, and it wasn’t long before the party-goers were dancing in the aisles!

Rev. Mary Thomas led the audience in a prayer for the Queen and thanks for her seventy years of dedication to our Nation.

The event was funded by kind private donations and monies from The Red House improvement committee, Albrighton Parish Council and Donington & Boscobel Council.
